Loads To Share With You

Well, it's been a ridiculously busy week again.  Firstly, we have taken delivery of the new studio!!  It's going to be a while before it's up and use-able but it's here!

I've completed an order of 20 birds which will adorn someone's Christmas Tree this year.  How beautiful is that going to look? :o)

I've been at another Crafts Uncovered event, where we work while we sit so the public get a greater appreciation/understanding of what work actually goes into the things we make and sell.

I also managed to get a bit of stock made while I was there for the two days which was great as I'm running quite low!  The heart brooches are a new thing...what do you think?

((whispers)) I've also made a small start on some Christmas items too!  That's it for now, I'll not mention it again until September ;o).

Preparing...

...an order of 20 birds for someone's Christmas tree!

...for my next event, which is at Water's Edge in Barton upon Humber.  Another event where we demonstrate/work while we're at the fair to show the general public the time and effort that goes into making the things we sell.

Birds, Ribbons and Flowers

On Saturday I was at the Crafts Uncovered event which was held at Waters Edge Country Park in Barton upon Humber.  The event was organised to make the public aware of the work that goes into handmade items.  We had a work/display table and a Works for Sale table.  It was a lovely day where I had lots of people asking questions about the soap and things, so hopefully the bigger event in April will be a success too.

While I was there I was busy making birds and flowers.  I love the green birdy...hopefully I'll get them all in the shop later, but first I have to make soap!

Ooh, when I got home there was a parcel containing some of the ribbons I've ordered for the website too.  Looks quite lame when you only see them, but hopefully there'll be more soon.  Can't wait for the buttons to start arriving!

Prep for Crafts Uncovered

As this fair is a demonstration and sale of works it needs rather more preparation than a normal 'craft fair'.  I'm not insured to make soap with the general public present so I've made a couple of display boards instead and I'll take all my equipment and ingredients.

I've also made some better price labels by getting some wooden hearts and sticking them onto pegs.  Much better than the cardboard ones I had before.

As this is a 2-day event but I'm only there for one, I've prepared some leaflets to go on a table on the Sunday.  One is just a list of my next events and the other is a tri-fold leaflet with much more information on it.  I'm quite pleased with how that turned out (although it'll look much better when I have more colour ink ;o) ).

And just because they look so lovely...here's a pile of gift boxed soap.
